Writing Groups

The Writing Studio hosts writing groups throughout the Academic Year to support the writing community through regular meetings and summer book clubs.

Creative Collective Writing Group

Creative Collective Writing Group:

Julianne Carew Santin, MFA '24, hosts this weekly writing group for anyone on campus who wants to explore writing creatively. Materials and exercises provided, and all experience levels welcome! Meeting times are updated every semester.

Graduate Writing Group

Graduate Writing Group:

This virtual weekly meeting is low pressure and low commitment--come if you can and stay as long as you'd like! Attendees will have an opportunity to share writing goals, and then work on their own projects, like you've met up to write in a virtual cafe. An OWL consultant hosts and is available to answer quick writing questions as they come up, too. All graduate students are welcome to attend. Meeting times are updated every semester.

Members of the School of Education are also encouraged to find further writing resources housed under the Graduate Resource Center.

Summer Book Club

Summer Book Club:

Over the summer, the Assistant Director and current Writing Studio Staff host a summer book club that cover a range of writing-related topics. This summer, the group is reading The Artist's Way by Julia Cameron.
