We’re so glad you’ve stopped by to learn more about the Townsend Institute for Leadership & Counseling at Concordia University Irvine. What makes our graduate programs unique? I will personally instruct you through a 4-day Kick-off Conference, along with monthly sessions in our virtual classroom. Our Master's programs in Counseling and Organizational Leadership, along with our Certificate programs in Executive Coaching, Counseling, and Organizational Leadership, are based on the latest neuroscience, high performance and attachment research, and biblically-based content from my books, writings, and teachings. They’re founded on two principles: your Competence - increasing your skills, strengths and expertise; and your Character - those internal abilities that you'll need to excel at work and in relationships. The Competence & Character model equips you with the ability to optimize your competencies and character along with those you lead and help. We invite you to consider how this program could transform your life & work.

Do something! Growth is primarily about movement, even imperfect movement. When we are stuck in the paralysis of analysis...anxiety builds up and we simply become overwhelmed and ultimately discouraged. So perform some action, any action...it's all about progress, not perfection.
One of the most significant factors by far, for reaching your goals and dreams, is using a calendar. People who calendarize have an infinitely greater chance of actually achieving something, than people who may talk about it, dream about it and think about it, but omit the calendar.
Don’t miss out - Most busy and successful people are future-oriented to a fault. They have meaningful goals and work hard to achieve them. The problem is that they run the risk of missing out on life itself.
Most people succeed not by waiting, but by making a difficult choice.
We were designed for relationship. “God designed you to be vulnerable, and to be intimate, and to take risks, and there are no great relationships without risks." Dr. John Townsend, offers a simple path to regain the intimacy and fulfilling closeness that every person needs.
